Even after studying that Family Tree for a long time he could not learn the names of any of the Family Members not even His Parents as all of them were struck off. Then he tried to fold that paper then that Hologram of the Family Tree Vanished and he groped the third row in the Attacks Section. There were three papers. The First one had "Magical" written on it. The Second one had "Specials" written on it and the Third one had "Forbidden" written on it. He kept the Forbidden and Special Papers away and opened the Magical one.
Ryu was very careful while opening the paper because it was very old and could easily crumble in his hands. Then when he opened it he found many attacks written in black ink one below the other. Ryu wondered how he could learn just by reading the names his doubt was answered when he brushed his finger across one attack which was "Black Fire" when he did that the paper projected the images on wall nearby showing the hand moments on how to do it and even showed what would be the effect of it. Black Fire caused huge fire to erupt from the user's weapon and would burn the enemy instantly.
Ryu wondered how he could make the attack to work so he continued reading and the paper said,
If you are sure of what you want your weapon transform into then Imagine the weapon and say loudly the weapon's name along with the prefix "Shadow"."
Every attack consumes some amount of Internal Energy called Chakra or Ki. So be careful with the choice of attacks in the Duel.
Ryu wanted to know how much he could learn in one sitting and saw every attack in the Magical Paper. Some were with very complicated hand and weapon movements while others were easy to perform. Then he kept the Magical Paper back and took out the Specials Paper and when he opened he found only a few attacks in that.
The inscription read,"It is not only important to learn how to Attack an opponent but also know how to defend oneself when the need is there. The Moves in this paper are not Physically damaging but can be used to win a duel under certain circumstances." Only two of the moves were clearly visible to read as the others had faded with time. The first one was "Shadow Replication" and the second one was "Vengeance Slash". Shadow Replication produces copies of oneself but consumes a lot of Chakra and it is not very advisable and Vengeance Slash is a move that can be used to "Mark" an opponent and even the opponent escapes he can be tracked down from anywhere using one's Shadow Weapon.
Ryu was excited on learning so many new things in such a short span of time and he was dying to try them all. So he came up and found the old man waiting for him at the entrance. Both of them went outside and Ryu asked the old man to stand a little away from.
Then Ryu drew out his wooden blade and thinking hard what he wanted his weapon to become Ryu said aloud,"Shadow Katana Activate" and Ryu felt some strange feeling for sometime and in a few moments he normal wooden blade erupted in black flames and his blade was transformed in a Katana which was burning with Flames so hot they could melt even rocks. But Ryu's happiness was short lived because the flames vanished as soon as they had come and his blade became normal again.
