That night after dinner Ryu overheard the conversation between His Foster Parents. They were discussing something about the "Village Establishment Festival" which was going to be held on the day after that day. Ryu knew that everyone from the village would be at the Shrine of the Twin Dragons 
praying in the morning and holding a very special dinner on that night.
Ryu thought it would be the best time to take his Sword and learn the Forbidden Attacks. So the next day he told the old man his idea about stealing the sword and the old man appreciated Ryu's idea. Then that entire day was just spent in mastering the attacks he had learnt earlier. After that entire day's practice he observed that he could modify his wooden blade into the Shadow Katana and keep it in that state for a longer time. Ryu was eagerly waiting for a duel with Mr.Taiyoukou who according to Ryu was the killer of his real Father.
The Day of the festival had arrived and everyone proceeded to the Shrine of the Twin Dragons to offer their prayers. Ryu was standing at the very end of the crowd and after quickly offering his prayers to the Dragons. He slipped away from the crowd without anyone's notice. He ran back to the Sunshine Clan's Dojo and directly went into the place where the most important things are hidden. Then as expected there were no guards and the cupboard was in front of him. He went and opened it with a lot of excitement and fear because he thought some kind of magical spell would protect it but luckily for him there was nothing of that sort and when he opened the door Ryu was amazed at what he saw. For the first time ever Ryu saw his Katana in all its glory lying there
just waiting to be used by Ryu.
With trembling hands he held the sword whose handle and sheath were made from the wood of the Shadow Dragon's tree which sprouted in the Sunshine Dojo when he was born. The Sword seemed pretty heavy at first but that was because Ryu was holding a real Katana for the first time in his life. With great zeal to learn many more things Ryu ran off to the Shadow Clan Dojo with his new sword tucked in his waist. After reaching His Dojo the old man was also there and he was even more excited when Ryu drew out his sword and showed him.
Then Ryu proceeded into the Hidden Chamber and took out the Forbidden Attacks Paper but when he tried to open it he could not do it and then he observed a little inscription written on it. It read,"Anyone who tries to learn the Forbidden Moves must first make a sacrifice first."
Ryu did not understand what it meant at first but after a little thinking he drew out his sword and cut his hand. The Sword was really sharp and if he had not been careful he could have cut himself deeply. As the blood flowed from his hand and fell onto the paper. The Paper opened up and the letters in it were all Red indicating his blood was the ink with which they were appearing. But his cut was not deep and because of the Spirit of Shadow Dragon in him his wound healed rather quickly and the letters stopped appearing.
So only a few moves could be seen. The Forbidden paper read - "These attacks are never to be used in any duel which is of competitive nature because these moves cause instant death of the opponent in various ways." Ryu smiled evilly and thought that these were the moves he should be mastering rather than those silly Magical and Special Moves.
But after reading some more he found that these moves also consume a lot of Chakra and cannot be used by members of other clans. There were only three moves which he could see and they were
1. Death's Shade - Darkness comes out of the weapon and whomsoever it touches dies instantly.
2. Shadow Fire Ball - A ball made out of black fire which cannot be put out by conventional means and does not extinguish till the enemy is burnt to death.
3. Black Inferno - An attack which has the widest attack range and one of the most damaging attacks of the Shadow Clan style. Black Fires erupt from the ground in various places causing a large amount of death and destruction. The Range of the attack depends on the person who is performing it.
Ryu was amazed by watching the images performing those attacks. Then after many hours he went outside and found the old man waiting for him there. The old man asked Ryu if he had learnt anything new and Ryu just said,"Ya somewhat." and was leaving for the Sunshine Dojo to challenge Mr.Taiyoukou and the entire Sunshine Clan.
